Earlier this evening, on January 8, a mighty Warrior of God passed away: Sister Velma Hankins of the Gulf Coast Christian Center in West Columbia. Her husband, Pastor B.B. Hankins, passed away 5 years ago, and I believe she has been ready to join him for just as long. They both have had a tremendous influence on my life since I was in high school. Pastor B.B. taught me so much about the Word of God. Sister Velma has influenced me more during my adult years, being such a beautiful example of a Godly woman. She taught me so much about faith and prayer. I so enjoyed the ladies meetings with her, and the morning prayer time with her. She would truly usher in the Holy Spirit to those meetings, and all were touched. Both Pastor B.B. and Velma raised their sons to be fine men of God, including Pastor Bob, along with his wife Candy, who now Pastor the Gulf Coast Christian Center. They are such a beautiful family. I thank God for all of them.
Goodbye, Sister Velma, I'll be seeing you again someday. Say hi to my Daddy for me.
